Ray Neal Sauer died February 1, 2010 in a local hospital.

Born in Houston, Texas July 30, 1934 to Ray G. and Anna Sauer, Ray was an excellent student, receiving a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering at Rice Institute and a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas.

Ray went on to a career in the computer industry, eventually becoming an innovator in computer techniques to schedule and manage complex projects, particularly in the petroleum, petrochemical and space industries. Ray was founder and president of Accura Tech, which offered proprietary project management software and consulting services to managers of projects and information systems.

Ray is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bettie Marion Sauer; three children Nancy, Lynn, and Steven; by step-son John Turner, by a brother John and a sister Mary Heartfield; and by numerous nephews and nieces.

Following a graveside service at 10:00 am at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, a memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2010 at the St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Chapel.
